Johnny Depp’s lawyers are celebrating as his ex-wife Amber Heard mentioned that British model Kate Moss was in the courtroom. She had previously claimed that Johnny once pushed Kate Moss down the stairs, and repeated the allegation in front of the court on Monday.

From the looks of it, Depp’s legal team were eagerly waiting for Heard to recall the story in the court and it seems to have worked out in Depp’s favour.

The public hearing of the $100 million defamation case saw Johnny smiling while his lawyers rejoiced at the mentioning of Kate Moss.

Amber recounted a fight between her and Johnny that conspired in March 2015 and also involved her sister Whitney Heard who was trying to protect her.

A Meaww report quoted Amber testifying, "(Whitney's) back was to the staircase, and Johnny swings at her. I don't hesitate, I don't wait — I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs. And I swung at him. In all of my relationships to date with Johnny, I hadn't landed a blow. And I, for the first time, hit him, square in the face. And he didn’t push my sister down the stairs."

No sooner Amber mentioned ‘Kate Moss and the stairs’ there seemed to be a celebrations of sorts on Depp’s table. The Pirates of the Caribbean star and his attorney Ben Chu smiled, as seen in a video shared on YouTube.

Ben turned around towards his team and pumped his first. He then turned to Johnny who was sitting next to him and said something to him.

In 2020, Heard had claimed that Johnny had pushed Kate down a staircase while they dated in the 1990s, noting that she had heard this from two people.

The following conspired during the trial of Johnny's unsuccessful lawsuit against The Sun for calling him a 'wife-beater.' Johnny's lawyers had claimed at a previous trial that this story was a total fabrication, and as Amber has brought it to the court, they will have an opportunity to use it against her credibility.

Johnny has sued Amber Heard for $50 million for implying he abused her during their marriage which led to him losing work and social standing. Amber sued him for $100 million in return.

The infamous trial is currently underway in Virginia, is live-streamed, and is available in the public domain.
