Wardrobe malfunctions are quite common, but, it is all about how to handle these accidents. Well, it’s the attitude that matters. This time it was Amanda Seyfried who suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the recently held 2023 Critics Choice Awards at Fairmount Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. Seyfried tried to avoid her possible wardrobe malfunctions throughout her appearance on the award show.
Seyfried looked glamorous as usual as she wore a shiny gold archival Dior gown on the red carpet of the award ceremony. The Mamma Mia! (2008) actress’ gown featured strategic cutouts which were the result of the dress’ bodice that connected to the bottom with a knot of fabric at Seyfried's torso, then crossed over her shoulders. The floor-length dress had a flowing skirt that she picked up to reveal her matching strappy gold sandal heels.
Unfortunately, the gown did not hold up throughout the show.
During her red carpet appearance Amanda was seen speaking to Access Hollywood, the actress revealed that her gown was 'ripping and actually breaking'. A frustrated Amanda Seyfried can be even heard saying, “I’m just gonna take off my dress.”
Seyfried was awarded with Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for her performance as Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout. Sadly, she even seemed to be struggling with the outfit trying to avoid a possible wardrobe malfunction. Several pictures of Seyfried featured her holding up the back to keep the dress from slipping off her shoulders.
The actress 37-year-old actress won another award for Best Limited Series and when she got on stage with the cast and crew she was seen wearing a black leather jacket over her original look.
It’s evident, a little wardrobe malfunction definitely wasn’t going to stop her from being honoured on the stage.
