The red carpet for the 49th edition of the American Music Awards also known as AMA took place last night. While the music was the highlight of the event, the talented artists by no means kept the fashion out of the spotlight. The musical event witnessed the top global artists hitting the venue in their stunning outfits.

From artists like Bad Bunny and Becky G, many managed to cheer up the crowd early on. However, it was Cardi B’s outfit that got everyone’s attention and we can’t stop admiring her. 

The ‘WAP’ hitmaker, who is hosting the AMAs for the first time, descended on the red carpet in a stunning black gown teamed up with a golden full-face mask. The 29-year-old rap icon grabbed the headlines in no time, and Twitter cannot help but talk about Cardi’s latest fashion drop.

During the event, Cardi B looked unrecognizable in a Schiaparelli gold face mask with matching talons. Her golden mask turned out to be the highlight of the entire fit. Sharing the pictures on Twitter, her latest eye-grabbing haute couture took the microblogging site by storm. She captioned the post as, “We just gettin started over here….. @AMAs”.


The Queen of hip-hop has earlier won AMAs five times and this year she managed to score three nominations i.e. Favourite Music Video, Favourite Female Artist - Hip-Hop and Favourite Song - Hip-Hop. 

Meanwhile, the latest look pulled off by Cardi B is currently being discussed by her fans and they took to Twitter to discuss the same.

“She looks like one of the billionaires in squid game”, quipped one user as another chimed in, “She looks like a Dark Souls Boss fight.” One user claimed, “A little creepy.. but it’s cute.” Another trolled the emcee saying, “Love Cardi but Halloween has been over with.”  The next one tweeted, “That mask scared me girl, but you definitely made a statement.” Meanwhile, another individual asserted, “Why are you eating the whole red carpet so early, let something for later!”

Speaking on hosting the show, Cardi in a statement said, as reported by Billboard, “When I received the invite to host the AMAs, I was so excited. I’m ready to bring my personality to the AMAs stage! Thank you to Jesse Collins, ABC and MRC for making this happen.”

Meanwhile, the 2021 AMAs saw a few early winners in the form of Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Silk Sonic, Taylor Swift and Kanye West.
