Melissa Benoist, American singer and actor, unveiled an astonishing truth of her life on the social media platform. The actress-singer taking to her Instagram handle shared with her fans and followers of being a survivor of domestic violence or intimate partner violence. Melissa, narrating the entire incident on her Instagram video, also urged her followers to report about such crisis in their life by reaching out to the services meant to help the victims of such cases.

In her video she is heard saying, “I am a survivor of domestic violence or IPV (intimate partner violence), which is something I never in my life expected I would say, let alone be broadcasting into the ether. I developed an astonishing poker face. Inwardly I was the ugliest version of myself I had ever known. I became unreliable, unprofessional, sometimes unreachable. There were stretches of weeks where I wouldn't get out of bed for more than two hours a day.
