JK Rowling is popularly known for her 7-part fantasy book series ‘Harry Potter’. The author of the world-renowned series was the latest one to receive a death threat on Twitter after she condemned the attack on fellow British writer Salman Rushdie. The public threat reportedly came from an Iran-backing extremist, as per IANS.

Rowling took to Twitter to express her horrors at the attempt on Rushdie’s life, on Friday night. Following the breaking news, Rowling took to Twitter and condemned the brutal attack on Rushdie. "Horrifying news. Feeling very sick right now. Let him be ok," wrote the Harry Potter author.

Later, a Twitter user, Meer Asif Aziz, whose bio reads as a student social activist, political activist and research activist, responded to JK Rowling’s tweet and said, "Don't worry you are next."

As per the latest Deadline reports, Rowling confirmed that the police are involved, telling followers: "To all sending supportive messages: thank you. Police are involved (were already involved in other threats).

Recently, Rushdie's agent reportedly revealed that the author is currently off the ventilator and is able to talk. Rushdie looked to be in danger of losing the use of an eye, suffered nerve damage to his arm, and suffered harm to his liver.
