In every fashion week show, we see some biggies rolling down to celebrate the best fashion and style together coming under one roof. From seeing Bollywood divas and hunks as showstoppers to seeing ace designers flaunting their new collections in front of the media and film fraternity, it really excites us and that we were going to witness at the most-awaited and prestigious fashion week - Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week. Unfortunately, the show has now been postponed due to the deadly disease coronavirus which is currently amplifying in Delhi.
Just recently, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) took to their Instagram account and announced that with the growing concerns around the spread of COVID-19 virus in New Delhi and keeping the health and safety of the fraternity in mind, they are shifting the show to a later and more appropriate date but they have not revealed the exact date. The effort is to safeguard the well-being of the fraternity and the invited guests for the upcoming LMIFW, by not having them become a part of crowded spaces
While sharing this news, they wrote in their caption, “With due regard to the growing concerns around the spread of COVID-19 virus in New Delhi and keeping in mind, the health and safety of our fraternity (including members, guests travelling from across the globe and support teams), Fashion Design Council of India has decided to postpone Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week in association with EbixCash to a later and more appropriate date.”
They even apologised for the inconvenience also hopes that people will understand the seriousness and sensitive situation. The caption further read, “We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused, but trust you understand the sensitivity of the situation. - Sunil Sethi, Board of Governors & FDCI Team #FDCI #LMIFWAW20”
Conducting the event under such circumstances will not benefit any stakeholder. “I would like to reiterate that the LMIFW had to be postponed keeping the safety of thousands of people, who were involved and not just guests but also team members, buyers and partners in mind. Due to the growing incidents reported globally, it would only be prudent to keep an event of this magnitude on hold,” said Sunil Sethi, Chairman FDCI.
