You Wore WHAT!?

The fact that Bollywood's beauties are all decked up in traditional attire has very little to do with the fact that it's the festive season and more to do with the fact that their films require them to do so.

Deepika Padukone, who has the period love story Bajirao Mastani coming up, walked the ramp for designer Anju Modi whose collection was titled Bajirao Mastani. She's the designer on the film, after all. So obviously Deepika was the showstopper. And let's just say that from the red hues to all that jewellery, nothing was subtle. But Deepika rocks the look.

She wore another Anju Modi look; this one is far more subtle. From the light colour to the dainty work, it all looks lovely. But what's up with the overzealous use of blush?

Subtle, but by no means simple, is this Sabyasachi sari. I mean just look at the work on it! Deepika styled it with big earrings and kept everything else fuss free. One issue, though. We've seen the same styling on Deepika many times before. She should up her game by wearing a tiara or a feather! Or maybe not.

Sonam Kapoor promoted Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in a wispy Shehlaa Khan. All those sheer layers with so much work on them have the opposite effect of regal. It's just not working.

For another promotional event she chose a lehenga by Shantanu & Nikhil. The colour is a little dull but hey, she makes it work. And the cut of the blouse is gorgeous.

Sonam's colour palette was the other extreme in this Gaurang look. There's just way too much happening here. I need my shades to look directly at her.
