White at weddings has been a no-no for generations, thanks to old superstitions and it’s obvious connection mourning rituals. And Deepika stood by us by daring to wear the colour at one of their friend’s receptions held recently. Not only did she elegantly break all rules, she did it with such flair that it is currently our favourite look to pull off for summer weddings!

Her ivory saree with floral detailing was matched beautifully with a halter necked blouse that we couldn’t get our eyes off! Never has rebellion floored us quite like this, Deepika styled her saree with stone and pearl danglers, adding to the minimalistic glam was her patent smokey eyes and ‘90s berry-brown lip combination. She took it further with her hair in a bun with a beautiful red flower gajra that showed us the workings of minimalism.
While this isn’t the first time the Bollywood babe has re-written wedding rules, she was decked in the unconventional white for her own wedding reception last year. And she is not alone, quite a few of our Bollywood brides have been ditching the conventional bridal colours this season!
