Lockdown period due to outbreak of COVID-19 pressed a pause button on several festivals, events and even marriages. Summer weddings especially in India can’t be missed, however due to lockdown many have been pushed ahead. What a bliss we can say for the to-be-brides, now they have a little more time on their hand, to finalise their dream wedding outfit making them look like diva for their D-day. Hence, we thought of taking a look at Bollywood divas, who made us skip our heart beat on their wedding day.
Beginning with global icon Priyanka Chopra, the actress had a fairy tale wedding one could have ever imagined. Dressed in ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s red lehenga she was a total show stopper. With mind boggling thread work, hand crafted organza flowers and stunning jewellery, and we can just go on and on, it made her look like a royal princess, as she took the plunge with American pop artiste Nick Jonas in India. The duo tied the knot in the year 2018.
Fashionista Sonam Kapoor too tied the knot very much in the city with beau Anand Ahuja. Just like PeeCee she too opted for red lehenga with tons and tons of traditional jewellery. Sonam for her d-day zeroed down on designer Anuradha Vakil's creation, largely focusing on lotus pattern, having an embellished border. Also adding traditional touch to her look was her red dupatta called as sarpench and of course the jewellery. Sonam did not mind you did not ditch any piece of jewellery that would enhance her beauty as a bride. From maatha pati to gold choker to raani haar, to red chooda and haath phool, she had it all and looked gorgeous.
Deepika Padukone too followed the suit in terms of red, but opted for silk saree over a lehenga for her wedding day. Married in both Konkani and Sindhi ritual, she wore a lovely silk saree during her Konkani wedding. She completed her outfit with translucent silk veil from Sabyasachi’s designer studio. Also adding charm to her look was her heavyweight traditional jewellery pieces, she was decked in. By keeping her makeup neutral, she just lit the moment with her wide smile. And last Anushka Sharma. Lady just ditched the traditional red lehenga and opted for blush pink one from none other than Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Anushka’s look was closely related to her wedding destination, Tuscany, and hence the usage of mellowed down colours. A twinkling border with intricate embroidery and jadau jellewery with hint of pink, made her look like an Indian princess of the contemporary times.
