During the recent launch of Smita Patil's biography by Maithili Rao, Amitabh Bachchan recalled some fond memories of the late actress.
Amitabh said Smita had had a premonition about his near-fatal accident, which took place on the sets of Coolie (1982).
On the previous night of the incident, Big B was surprised to get a call from the actress, who said she had had a bad dream about him.
While referring to some of their film together, he said, "Smita felt very awkward doing the rain dance sequence in Namak Halal with me. She told me that it was very different from the kind of cinema she usually did - but because she was bound by the contract, she had to do it. I did everything possible to make her comfortable on the set. However, when we met a couple of months after the movie's release, she was disappointed over the fact that despite doing so many films, people still shouted 'Namak Halal', whenever they saw her. It used to embarrass her a lot."
