Kanu Behl's Titli, which will hit the theatres on October 30, had created a stir at Cannes film festival last year. Since then, the movie has won accolades at several film festivals.

But do you know how it was made in the first place? Well, that's a very interesting story.
Kanu had sent the script to Dibakar Banerjee, Yash Raj Films and Anurag Kashyap. All three showed interest in producing the film, but Dibakar, who enjoys a very close equation with the filmmaker, decided to go ahead.

However, this being his first production venture, Dibakar wasn't very sure about it.

That when Anurag called him up one night and said, "Look, if you aren't going to produce this film, let me do it, because it needs to be made. Audiences need to see such movies."

This 'threat' actually gave Dibakar the courage to produce the film. After Titli, he has co-produced Detective Byomkesh Bakshy as well.
