The media went in for a shock as they saw Big B mouth the dialogue – ‘Are you a virgin?’ – in the opening line of Pink’s trailer. The trailer launch that happened today in a theatre in Andheri West saw the presence of the entire cast of Pink – Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang and Angad Bedi - alongside director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, producers Shoojit Sircar, Rashmi Sharma and Ronnie Lahiri.

Big B spoke about the film saying, “The colour Pink defines women empowerment and self reliance, hence the title. They have immense inner strength and they should be aware of it. For any country, 50% of its strength lies in their women power. I think, women should realise it and this film is dedicated to them.”

Taapsee, who will be seen in another hard-hitting role after Baby, says, “Pink is very close to me because of my Delhi connection. It was both easy and difficult at the same time. This film will be a landmark in my career in all possible ways. The fact that I got to work with Amitabh Bachchan in such an early stage of my career is overwhelming. And working with Andrea and Kirti was awesome. We three bonded the best. It actually felt like we were flatmates.”

Newcomer Andrea, who is a professional singer from Shillong, is all set to make her B-Town debut with the film. The actress said, “I have never acted before. I sing and this seemed unreal. You just need to be at the right place at the right time.”

Producer Shoojit Sircar spoke about the nitty-gritties of Pink, which is a thrilling court-room drama. “We have spoken to many High Courts and Supreme Court lawyers about the norms and intricacies of law, which the youngsters are unaware of in these days. The film will throw light on the laws which youngsters need to be aware of when they are on the streets or outside. They also allowed us to be in one of the Session Courts where we saw a few trials. Whatever the character is speaking in the film, has been inspired by many real-life cases.”
