Panga, Movie Review: Kangana Ranaut, This Panga Of Yours Is Deliciously Changa!

9/10 to Kangana Ranaut's performance in Panga. You have to see to believe it. And, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari- what's your next film?

I haven't seen Street Dancer that has made me almost dance on way back home. I have seen the Kangana Ranaut-led Panga. Like always, I shall not hold myself back; I hadn't liked its trailer. Lekin woh kehte hain na- never judge a book by its cover. It's the second time I have been rapped on my knuckles. Panga now, and the first time was incidentally Panga director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's husband Nitesh Tiwari's Chhichhore. Seems, this couple are out to teach me a lesson or two.

Here I go, Kangana. You are impatient to read what I thought about your performance. Well, you have proved yet again that you are one of the finest actors that this country has produced. You make your on-screen husband Jassie Gill and that oh-so-cute son of yours Yagya Bhasin swell up their chests- but honestly, everyone watching this film will feel proud that we have someone like you in our midst, who has such fine qualities in acting.

Every single expression by this lava of talent leaves you just stupefied. And thank you Ashwiny Iyer for not just making a film- which I shall see once again- but also for casting Kangana as not an obsessive psycopath or an alcoholic or a drug addict. It had become so repetitive but yet she ably pulled it off most of the time, now however you've given us a whiff of fresh air.

I did not expect Jassie Gill (sorry Jassie, I am not holding myself back here either) to give a performance which is simply superlative. Everyone in his/her life needs a counterfoil who stays with you thick and thin but thinks otherwise at times when you don't think correctly.

Richa Chadda walks away with a seeti-deserving performance. Neena Gupta is top-of-the-draw.

The beauty of Panga is that it is extremely fast-paced. Add this to the writing of Ashwiny, Nitesh and Nikhil Mehrohtra (what a spine!) with the soulful soundtrack (music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, lyrics by Javed Akhtar) seamlessly weaved into the narrative.

FYI, I had to shut down the guy who sat next to me and was playing games on his phone from the first scene. Even I too rap knuckles and I asked him to change his seat since he quite seemed a gatecrasher who had walked in to a press screening. Hell, yeah! Aur, kabhi toh panga lena chahiye na agar aapko koi constantly sata raha hai (Read: distract kar raha hai, in this case).

If I give away anything from this beautiful roll-out even in terms of scenes, I would commit a cardinal sin. You nearest theatre is not far away from you, guys!

Everyone associated with Panga, Collars Up!

I am going with FOUR with a li'l hesitation. Should I be giving 4.5?
