Couldn't sit through. Kept wondering why was Laal Kaptaan made. Read the review, you'll get a feel of what I endured

Couldn't fathom what Navdeep Singh wanted to say in this over-indulgent exercise in the ravines. Did Singh want to go out for a holiday on a horse with one of the finest actors we have, Saif Ali Khan? Director of films such as Manorama Six Feet Under and NH10 has lowered his bar with Laal Kaptaan- and how!

Saif hasn't, he puts his best foot forward- but Navdeep is always round the corner to drag it back in almost every frame. There are warriors, murders, animals- but nothing even holds attention for a short duration.

The film just does not move, despite the fact that the Nawab of Pataudi is on a (fit) horse almost for one-third of the run time. The writing has many horrendous lines. Sample this- A tells B 'Tu mujhe upar se bahut chhota lag raha hai'. B shoots back 'Tu mujhe neche se bahut kaala lag raha hai'.

I am also stumped that how could Aanand L Rai and Sunil Lulla back this film. I mean, if I had no company of my ex-colleague on my adjacent seat, I might have dozed off.

Sonakshi Sinha advertised by Singh as a mystery element in this film leaves you with a question: What was the mystery about her? You were fab in MIssion Mangal, Sonakshi--- lekin now this?

Sigh!

Bas, aur nahin likha ja raha. Laal Signal has lit up.

I am going with TWO.
