It amazes me that she is so good in holding a conversation that you don't wish it to end. So, it really does not amaze me when this lady Taapsee Pannu keeps coming up trumps in times-and yet again in Game Over- where not just Bollywood but almost every member of every fraternity is out to ruin the career of some colleague, senior or junior, forgetting that justice will rain on them sooner rather than later. Philosophical? No, just the truth and linked to the film. And now some truth about the movie.
Quite strapped or let's say confined in one place in most parts of the movie, Taapsee manages to spook you. The trauma her character suffers and the consequent loss of confidence she experiences of a dirty game played on her, when added to the subsequent circumstantial terror, is enough to take you into a flashback of the film's eerie scenes when you switch off your bedroom light to hit the bed. Isn't that just what the doctor ordered if you're out to make a film that is quite meant to scare?
Let's leave the story for you to go into the hall, and why should i change my style to spoil your fun, when this celluloid product is so intriguing and captivating. To be honest, the intrigue unfolds into a bit of convolution but that's the drawback of story-telling in today's most films which dare to be different. Simplicity needs to come back in our cinema and things should not be left unsaid to decipher. But then, can we expect that in today's times where most people's mind is on the dagger and not on the matter? Just the truth again!
Still all said and done, Taapsee Pannu playing the game (film) almost singlehandedly, wins it hands down with her histrionics, which deserve praise of high order for after all she has no Godfather!
