Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy released in 2019 and the film, helmed by Zoya Akhtar, was a massive success. The film was selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, and while it was not nominated, being selected was in itself a huge achievement. The film went on to win awards at many other award functions, and recently, Gully Boy won the Best Original Score at the 14th Asian Film Awards. Zoya Akhtar was ecstatic and she thanked Karsh Kale and The Salvage Audio Collective for giving the film the best original score.
The winners of the 14th Asian Film Awards were announced today, and Gully Boy bagged the award for the Best Original Score. Owing to the Coronavirus pandemic, the 14th AFA ceremony was an online event. Parasite bagged the maximum wins at the virtual Asian Film Awards, including best film and best screenplay. Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad starring Taapsee Pannu was also nominated for the best film category. Karsh Kale and The Salvage Audio Collective were named for the award of the best original music for Gully Boy, and director Zoya Akhtar took to her social media to thank them.
Zoya Akhtar took to her Instagram stories and expressed her joy by writing, “Thank you Karsh Kale and The Salvage Audio Collective For Giving Gully Boy the best original score Asia Film Awards Best Original Score: @karshkale @salvageaudiocollective.” Take a look:
