Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Panipat has been in the making for a long time now. The film which is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker is all set to bring the Battle of Panipat on celluloid. However, the latest news that is buzzing is that the evergreen actress Zeenat Aman is going to join the star cast now along with Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt and Kay Kay Menon. The actress will do a cameo and will essay the role of Sakina Begum.
According to the makers, Sakina led the province of Hoshiyarganj and lived within the confines of her kingdom, away from the politics of the region. She played an important part in the battle of Panipat when the Peshwas turned to her for help.
Talking about the characters of the film, we had earlier reported that Arjun Kapoor will shave off his head for this part. A source had revealed, "It’s a big deal for actors to shave their hair off as it affects their appearance. However, Arjun was game as he wants to leave no stone unturned to make his part as believable as possible." The first look of the film has been shared a while ago. Speaking of the film, Panipat is based on the Battle of Panipat which was fought in the 18th century. It had the northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali battling it out.
The film is scheduled to hit the big screen on December 6, 2019.
