Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is standing by Karan Johar whose upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, has been banned in 4 states by Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI).

For the uninitiated, on Friday, COEAI declared that no films starring Pakistani actors will release in theatres.
The film, which is set to release next week on October 28, will not be screened in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Goa. And Nitin Datar, President of the COEAI, has also said that they have requested other states to follow the decision (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Banned In 4 States, Oct 14).

Expressing his anger on the issue, Anurag Kashyap took to Twitter and said, “The world must learn from us.. We solve all our problems by blaming it on movies and banning it.. #ADHM . With you on this @karanjohar,"

However, the filmmaker didn’t stop there. He went on to question Prime Minister as to why hasn’t he apologised for meeting Pakistani PM.

A number of Bollywood names including Om Puri, Shyam Benegal, Vikram Bhatt,
Mukesh Bhatt and Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani have slammed the ban on the release of films which have completed production.
