Yami Gautam has often been candid about the issues that interest her. The actress has shared that she hopes there will be fee correction for actors. She also shared that there was a time when filmmakers would mortgage their houses to make films, but corporate culture prevails nowadays in the film industry.
In an interaction with Dainik Bhaskar, Yami said, "I hope (there is a correction). Though, I have always wondered who made the structure of fees and other issues (in the industry). Now, the people paying hefty fees make the rules. It is corporate culture. Earlier, there was an era when individual producers were there. They even mortgaged their own houses to make films. That is how a few iconic films were made. Such was the passion of filmmaking at that time."

She added, "Of course, the fees of actors should be realistic enough to not affect the film's budget. It is not right that your film is a hit for the sake of saying so, but your producer could not even recover their budget."
Yami has since been featured in several projects including Badlapur, Kaabil and Sarkar 3. Her recent films A Thursday, Dasvi, and Lost premiered online and received rave reviews all across.
