Ace actress Vidya Balan pens a witty post on World Health Day, with some thought-provoking pictures. In her Instagram post where she wishes her followers a Happy World Health Day, her caption is an apt reply to the people constantly targeting her for her weight. The actress who has been time and again criticized for being overweight sarcastically asked all that shouldn't weight be considered as part of one’s health and should not be one’s identity.

Well said, Vidya! It is indeed true. In her caption, she mentioned how people often tell her weight is being equivalent to her health. She wrote in her Instagram caption, “People always turn around and tell me that your weight is equivalent to your health but your weight should be a part of your health and not its identity - Happy World Health Day #worldhealthday” Also, she shared pictures of her where she was seen covering her eyes, ear and mouth, reminding of the great Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi's, Three Wise Monkey principle.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actress spoke about how her weight had become a national issue. Being from a non-filmy family she shared there was no one to guide her and make her understand that this is just a phase. Followed by the actress sounding more confident stated now it doesn’t bother her anymore. She said, “My weight issue had become a national issue. I have always been a fat girl; I wouldn’t say that I am at a stage where my fluctuating weight doesn’t bother me anymore at all. But I have come a long way. I have had hormonal issues all my life. For the longest time, I hated my body. I thought it had betrayed me. On the days I was under the pressure of looking my best, I would bloat up and I would be so angry and frustrated.”
