The final match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 is over and the women in blue were defeated by England.

A late collapse, sparked by five wickets in 19 balls from Anya Shrubsole, saw England snatch victory away from the Indian team.

Like the rest of us cricket fans, Bollywood stars including Akshay Kumar, who cheered the team on from the stands at Lord’s in London, are disappointed.

To take you down memory lane, Lord’s is the same cricket ground where Kapil Dev lifted the Cricket World Cup in 1983. And everyone was hoping that Indian women will repeat the feat today.

The Indian team had a promising start but it was not their day today. Mithali Raj and team made a brave effort and hats off to them for that!
