When Ram Gopal Verma made horror films like Bhoot, Darna Mana Hai or even Vaastu Shastra, the audiences had sleepless nights. But of late, we see less horror films being made and those that are created, don’t sustain enough scares to pull the audience to cinema halls.
The last memorable horror film was Stree, but again it was a horror comedy, not an out-and-out horror film. Now, Karan Johar’s Bhoot: The Haunted Ship starring Vicky Kaushal in lead role released in cinema halls last Friday and it hasn’t lived up to viewers’ expectations or hasn’t even received critical acclaim.
Do you think our filmmakers need to restrategise their moves when it comes to making good horror films that could be at par with their Hollywood counterparts?
