The first season of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s
Inside Edge was a hit. The show is now coming back with a second season. And
guess what? There is a surprise element for viewers this time.
The makers are trying to rope in real cricketers for the web series and one of
the names cropping up in this list is that of Yuvraj Singh.
Well, yes, reports suggest the cricketer Yuvraj Singh might just star in the web
series. According to a report in mid-day, Yuvraj has apparently been approached
by the makers to feature in the show. A source close to the unit revealed that
it was Angad Bedi’s idea to rope in Yuvi for the second season of Inside Edge. "The
makers were toying with the idea of roping a cricketer for the next season, as
it would lend more authenticity to it. Yuvraj's name cropped up several
times," the source told the publication.
Online reports also suggest that other than Yuvraj Singh there are other
cricketers who have been approached to perform a cameo in the series as well. Their
names will be announced once they have signed on the dotted line, revealed a
source close to mid-day.
Helmed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the trailer of Inside Edge left a
gripping impact on viewers. The web series is about Richa Chadha, who owns a
T-20 team, Mumbai Mavericks, and is fighting to retain it. Other cast members
of the web series included Vivek Oberoi, Sanjay Suri, Sayani Gupta, Tanuj
Virwani and Angad Bedi among others.
Will the real cricketers make the series more interesting than the first part?
Let’s wait and watch!
