It is said that Aisha director Rajshree Ojha’s next is
based on the Kashmiri all-girl rock band Pragaash with Alia Bhatt and
Nawazuddin Siddiqui as leads. The band was formed by Noma Nazir Bhatt, Farah
Deeba and Aneeqa Khalid.
Reportedly,
Rajshree had roped in Alia to play the vocalist Noma.

also was, Shabana Azmi will play a character loosely inspired from Asiya
Andrabi, a pro-Pakistan separatist and the founding leader of
Dukhtaran-e-Millat and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will play a cop.
However, seems that there is a change in Ojha's plans.
The latest whispers coming from her camp are that Alia is
not doing her film and Ojha has asked Saiyami Kher (who debuted in Rakeysh
Mehra's Mirzya opposite Harshvardhan Kapoor) to step into Alia's shoes.

We also hear that Nawaz might opt out and Ojha has sounded
off Rajkummar Rao for the same role.
The band Pragaash performed live in 2012 ( when
they participated in a Battle of Bands competition in Srinagar), but soon
started receiving death and rape threats on social media and even on their cell
phones. The Grand Mufti publicly had lambasted the band and issued a fatwa
against the group in 2013. The girls in question received large amount of
online support, but were also forced to disband consequently.

The
stars to play the drummer Farah and the bass guitarist Aneeqa in Ojha's flick
have not been finalised either.
Ojha, who directed Anil and Sonam Kapoor's vanity project
Aisha, has been going around saying the film that hit the theatres wasn't hers.
She had even told a section of the media: "Should I be politically correct
and say since my name was on the credits of Aisha, it was my film? Or should I
tell you that the film that I had conceptualised was not the one the audience
saw? I had no control over the final cut."
