Will the BJP win the 2019 General Elections with a clear majority? Or is the Congress coming back? Or, is a hung Parliament in store? And then, there is lots of talk that several opposition parties might combine to challenge the BJP vote count.

Kamal Haasan, who recently formed his party Makkal Needhi Maiam, was in the city yesterday. In an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with SpotboyE.com at Sun-n-Sand (Juhu), we asked the 63-year-old star-cum-politician if he would be ready to join hands with any other party just in case a coalition government has to be formed? Haasan replied, “Anything to save the state, but it has to be honest, it cannot be any opportunity. I’m not an opportunist, I’m an optimist. Things can be done, and they can be done with intent and honesty. It may not be the best policy in the present environment. It’s a great luxury, very few people can afford it, I want to afford it.”

We then asked him that does his ideology match with Rahul Gandhi? Haasan responded, "It’s obvious, I don’t belong to a kind of... I want the diversity of the nation to be maintained. Anybody who will assist in that, we’ll have to carefully choose. And for me, my state is important, to begin with. I’ll have to start with achievable goals first, and not think, (I’ll) jump into national politics like that. I’ll jump into national politics because it helps my stint. I’m not being parochial now, this is the only way to go about setting right the apparatus, the larger apparatus.”

So that's that! Wait for the FULL INTERVIEW with Kamal Haasan at this very space. We are coming with it, soon. Don't go away.
