SpotboyE.com had
brought to you the details of KriArj Entertainment (Prernaa Arora & Arjun
N. Kapoor) and Shree Narayan Singh’s third collaboration (after Toilet: Ek Prem
Katha & Batti Gul Meter Chalu). The film, as we are informed is inspired by a real life story of a woman in Gujarat who doesn't want to have
children but decides to become a surrogate mother for someone else. After a
point she gets attached to the child and wants the child back. And now, the
latest development in the project is that Aishwarya has been approached to play
the lead. Talking about the casting to Mumbai Mirror, Prernaa said that
Aishwarya tops her wishlist. "We would love to have her but it will depend
on her dates," she says.
When asked why Shree Narayan Singh is not directing this film, Prernaa points
out that he will be busy with Batti Gul Meter Chalu. "That's why we are
launching two new directors. We will still have him as editor and
co-producer," she asserts.
SpotboyE had also told you earlier that the story will be based on a social
issue and will have an author backed role for its female protagonist. Shree had
shared his excitement on being part of this exciting project. “Jasmine is the
journey of a girl to motherhood, of eternal love between a mother and a child.
I have always wanted to work on a women centric film and I’m able to do
so."
The concept of
Jasmine was pitched by writers Siddharth and Garima after 3 years of research.
Shree and Prerna instantly liked it, and the script is ready to roll now. We
hear that the makers are looking at an early 2018 start for Jasmine.
Now, let’s see if Aishwarya steps in to play a surrogate mother in Jasmine or
not.
