Mardaani 2 is round the corner and Rani Mukerji has left no stone unturned. The first part did well and the aim is that the second one should do better. But did you know that she learnt to swim for this one? Yes, she did! Rani being Rani has never let things drift or done a wishy-washy job and this time was not going to be an exception.
The film's director Gopi Puthran broached this to her and Rani's first reaction was: 'Well, do you really need it?' Gopi explained it to her that he wanted her to do an action scene underwater with the villain. The Hichki star soon sensed that Gopi was quite keen to have what he was telling her, but dilly-dally she did.
You see, Rani has a sort of water-phobia. Talking EXCLUSIVELY to SpotboyE.com, Rani says, "You see, I was learning how to swim when I was a child. But one day, it so happened that I felt I was about to drown. Bas us din se, I kept away from swimming.
So yeah, I was dilly-dallying the scene in question and eventually we shot it only towards the end of the shoot."
Adds Rani, "It was a one-day shoot. It went well."
And how many days did she take to learn swimming? "About seven days," Rani replied.
And, can she dive from the top now? "Yes," she smiled.
Mardaani, produced by Yash Raj Films, hits theatres on November 29. Besides, Rani, the film stars Shruti Bapna, Rajesh Sharma and Jisshu Sengupta. Rani plays Shivani Shivaji Roy, who locks horns with a remorseless serial killer who is raping and murdering young women.
