Salman Khan’s bail plea hearing at the High Court is underway currently. While the Sessions Court convicted him in the 2002 hit-and-run case on May 6, his lawyer Amit Desai has argued the prosecution charges based on the Kamaal Khan angle today.

The defence lawyer argued that Kamaal, who was the fourth person in the car that night, was not cross-examined. The emergence of the Kamaal Khan angle has weakened the prosecution case. They also argued that the key witness, Ravindra Patil, was an unwilling witness.

The actor was not present in the Court today; his sister Alvira and his manager were seen at the venue.

Salman was sentenced to a 5-year jail term and a penalty of Rs. 25,000 by the sessions Court on May 6. He was found guilty on all charges including driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. However, his lawyers moved the High Court and got an interim bail of 48 hours, the same evening.
