Family comes first. And when it is about Sanjay Dutt’s
father, late Sunil Dutt, the actor has his priorities set.
According to Mid-day, Sanjay Dutt has requested the
producers of Bhoomi to allow him a day off to perform shradh for his father.
On September 13, Dutt, his wife Maanayata, along with their children Iqra
and Shahraan, will be heading to Assi Ghat in Banaras to perform a special
puja. Sanjay didn’t want to miss out on the period of Pitra Paksha. His
sisters, Namrata and Priya, are also said to be accompanying him to the holy
city.

A source from the production house informed the tabloid,
"Baba has been going the extra mile in ensuring that the film is
well-promoted. The producers were more than happy to accomodate his request,
especially since it was of sentimental value to Baba."
Producer Bhushan Kumar said, "This is an important
time for Dutt saab. He felt he must perform this puja as his tribute to Sunil
Duttji."
Sandeep Singh (co-producer) said, "For Baba, it is
an emotional time and he wants to remember his father in a special way."
Sanjay Dutt shared a thick bond with father Sunil Dutt
and time and again have spoken about his relationship with him.
Actor and Congress MP Sunil Dutt died of heart attack on
May 25, 2005 at his Bandra home.
Talking about Bhoomi, the film is an emotional and
sensitive revenge drama that explores the relationship between a father and
daughter. The film is also quite awaited as it's Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film after his release from the
jail.
