Now, this piece of news is definitely saucy and spicy! With several filmmakers having a sea full of star performers to pick from; filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has now put on his thinking cap for his next. As per reports in Mid Day, the critically acclaimed director has heard to have bought rights and taken the permission from Punjabi folk singer, late Amar Singh Chamkila’s family to showcase his life on the silver screen. While the subject is fixed, the director is yet to zero down on the hero, who shall step into the Punjabi folk singer’s shoes.
As per reports, the makers are considering Kartik Aaryan and Ayushmann Khurrana. Both the actors have proved their mettle on the celluloid with passing years. While we have already heard Ayushmann crooning in his movies, it would also be refreshing to watch Kartik also crooning on screen, if Imtiaz Ali zeroes down on him. We must say it’s a difficult choice to be made by the filmmaker. The singer was famous for his hard-hitting tracks that described characteristics of Punjabi men. The folk singer’s songs dealt with controversial topics such as drug abuse, patriarchal aspect of Punjabi men and extra-marital relationships. He was also known as Elvis of Punjab.
Currently, the filmmaker is busy in the post-production of his upcoming romantic flick, titled Aaj Kal, starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan. The movie is said to be releasing around Valentine’s day period in 2020, but nothing is confirmed yet.
