A special NDPS court in Mumbai earlier this week rejected Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan's bail plea in the Mumbai cruise drugs case. His legal team would now move the Bombay High Court, according to a report published in The Times Of India. Reports say SRK has been spending sleepless nights as his son continues to remain in judicial custody. A certain section of social media users have, to this end, opined that Aryan is paying the price of being SRK's son.
Amid this chaos, an old interview of Shah Rukh Khan talking about the disadvantages of being a public figure has resurfaced. The actor has, in the video clip, highlighted, “My name could spoil their (his children's) life and I don't want that to happen.”
The clip has been taken from SRK's 2008 interview with a German TV channel. In this, he has shared how his fame could impact his children. Seemingly, the superstar knew his fame could mean trouble for his children and he definitely didn’t want that. He said, “My biggest fear for my family in life, especially my kids, is that I hope they can live out of my shadow. My biggest fear is my fame. I don't want them to ever fight that and say 'oh I'm better than my father' and I don't want them to get completely engulfed by it that they don't need to do anything because they're my children.”
“But it's absolutely true that my name could spoil their lives and I don't want that. I would like to be known as their father. I would not like them to be known as my children," Shah Rukh Khan added.
Another throwback video shared by SRK’s fans includes a snippet from a Koffee with Karan episode, which featured him talking about his children and how he would protect them. SRK said, “The decision to have a child is the decision to let a piece of your heart walk outside your body," adding, "if the car was speeding towards my children, I'd stand in front of that car and I am sure I would stop it.”
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have been receiving support from their friends from the industry. Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan, Sussanne Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Swara Bhasker, Rahul Dholakia and Pooja Bhatt are among those who have shown their support to SRK and Aryan Khan through social media posts and comments.
