Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are one of the most-loved actors in Bollywood and have a huge fan base as well. Both the Bollywood stars have been winning hearts since years now, but their friendship with each other has always been the talk of the town. While SRK and Salman have been friends since ages, do you remember the massive fallout between the actors where they did not talk to each other for years? Now, here’s a throwback to when Shah Rukh Khan said it 100 per cent his fault that Salman Khan was angry at him.
On Koffee With Karan Season 3, back in 2011, Shah Rukh Khan went on to talk about how he is not great at maintaining friendships. When Karan Johar questioned SRK whether he thinks Salman Khan has a problem with him, because he couldn’t keep up with the friendship, King Khan replied, “That's what I said. I can't keep friends. I don't know how to keep friends. I would not like to blame anyone for disliking me. I take all the credit for the fact that people love me. But if people dislike me, it has nothing to do with them. It's all on me."
Adding on further, Shah Rukh revealed that saying sorry is one of the most difficult things for him. Speaking with KJo on the chat show, SRK said, “If Salman has an issue with me, 100 per cent I have let him down. Farah has an issue with me, 100 per cent I have let her down. If you (KJo) have an issue with me, then I have let you down. And I feel sad that I have let people down. The funny thing is -- as much as I know how to say sorry, I can't get myself to say sorry.” The actor further explained that him not saying sorry has nothing to do with anyone, and shared that as much as he loves hugging people, he can’t hug an old friend and say ‘come back to me’ because he couldn’t do that with his parents. He shared, “I hugged their dead bodies and told them to 'come back to me' and they didn't. So, I've lost that quality to call people back.”
Meanwhile, after all that, SRK mentioned that all he said was not to create any kind of news byte, but concluded saying that if Salman is disturbed with him it’s got to do with him and he is completely in the right. Other than that, Shah Rukh also said that he wishes that he could just pick up the telephone and say sorry, but mentioned that he does not know how to say sorry and said that he is too old to learn it.
For the unversed, much has been written about Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s public fight in 2008 and the tensions way before that. For many years, both SRK and Salman did not acknowledge the problems between them in public or even speak to each other, until when Shah Rukh opened up in 2011. Other than that, back in 2010, Salman also said that only God could come and make SRK and him friends once again, and mentioned that is not happening. Soon after, both Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan put their differences aside and patched up at an Iftaar party in 2013. Also Read:
