Best known as a romantic hero, Rishi Kapoor had the charm and the charisma that made him one of India’s most popular actors of the 1970s and ’80s. Unfortunately, the actor passed away on April 30 after valiantly fighting with cancer and it breaks our hearts to imagine that we won’t be seeing any more new films of the veteran star. Bollywood lost one of the finest gems in Rishi Kapoor and as fans are still coming to terms with his demise, there was a time when the Bobby actor had already predicted that he won't live that long.

During the time when Karan Johar’s Kapoor & Sons was released, that time in an interview with Filmfare, Rishi Kapoor was asked: "How do you imagine yourself at 90?" To which the late actor had replied, "Given my lifestyle, I won’t live that long. But people say, if I do, I will look like my character Dadu. Though I hope I don’t behave like him – a spoilt kid." In the movie, Rishi had played Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan's on-screen grandfather and his acting won him a lot of accolades from the movie buffs.

After his death, an official statement was released, titled ‘A message from Rishi Kapoor’s family’ which read, “Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia. The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said he kept them entertained to the last. He remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through two years of treatment across two continents.”

Post his cancer treatment, Rishi Kapoor was last seen in Emraan Hashmi’s The Body. He had recently announced his next project, a remake of Hollywood film The Intern, also featuring Deepika Padukone. ALSO READ: Rishi Kapoor's Daughter Riddhima Sahni Gets Nostalgic; Shares Love-Soaked Pictures Of Mom Neetu Kapoor And The Late Actor
