Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14 and is deeply missed by all his fans, family and friends. Every fan of the Chhichhore actor is well aware of how Sushant’s journey from Delhi Technical University to Hindi films was inspiring and motivating. As Sushant Singh Rajput studied engineering before he came to Mumbai, it was once when the late actor revealed he gave up his Stanford University scholarship to be a background dancer in Bollywood and come to Mumbai and struggle.

Speaking with Hindustan Times Brunch, in a throwback interview, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput refused to call his years before he hit Bollywood as the struggling period. The actor said, “Many would call the years before I hit Bollywood the struggling period but not me. I was not struggling. I was already doing what I loved.” He then continued, “Then, I felt the need to meet a girl, and that led me to Shiamak Davar’s group. My life went into a spin from that point on.” Talking about how he went on to join Shiamak Davar’s dance troupe and become a background dancer in Bollywood, Sushant revealed how his life went into a spin.

Sharing details about giving up a scholarship from Stanford University, something no one would ever miss, Sushant said, “Instead of heading to Stanford University from where I had a scholarship offer, I dropped out of college and landed in Versova, in a 1RK (room kitchen) that I shared with six others.” As the actor shared some details of his inspiring life, he mentioned that he dropped out of engineering college too back in 2006 when he was in his final year in college. Talking about dropping the bomb about college, Sushant said that his parents and family were shocked and he took their silence as their approval.


The Chhichhore actor also went on to reveal that it was hard for him at home but mentioned that his dad loves it when on his walks, people call out to him, show him some recent clipping of him. Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput’s last rites were performed on June 15, a day after his untimely demise. The actor’s family including his dad, and sisters immersed his ashes in the holy river Ganges, in his hometown of Patna.
