Amitabh Bachchan starrer Rann's producer Sheetal Talwar has some very fond memories of Arun Jaitley (66), who passed away this morning. Jaitley had argued for him, Madhu Mantena (co-producer) and Ram Gopal Varma (director) in the Supreme Court. Talwar spoke EXCLUSIVELY to SpotboyE.com about it, this evening.

RGV had dived straight into controversy when he released the first promo of  Rann, where the national anthem was changed to Jana Gana Mana Rann (lyrics written by Sarim Momin), even though the tune remained the same.  The Censor Board banned the director from airing the promo.

As soon as the media reported, Talwar called Jaitley, whom he knew socially. Soon after, Varma and Talwar went to him seeking professional help.

Said Talwar, "Mr Jaitley took up the case readily. He told me that he couldn't ascertain what will happen but he will do his best as it was about the fundamental right of speech."

Added Talwar, "Clearly, Mr Jaitley believed in freedom of creative expression. And what a brilliant lawyer he was. His arguments were passionate and completely logical."

"That we unfortunately could not win the case is immaterial, but I shall never forget Mr Jaitley's efficiency, it's still live in front of my eyes," Talwar concluded.
