Film producer Sorav Gupta has recently made serious allegations against actor Sunny Deol, claiming cheating, extortion, and forgery. At a press conference, Gupta accused Deol of taking Rs 4 crore from him in advance for a film in 2016 but never fulfilling his commitment. Gupta stated that they paid Sunny Deol Rs 1 crore as an initial advance, but instead of starting their project, Deol chose to work on "Poster Boys" (2017). Despite Gupta's continued financial support, amounting to Rs 2.55 crore, the promised film never materialized. Additionally, Gupta alleged that Deol directed him to pay another director, book Filmistaan studio, and hire an executive producer without any progress on their agreed project.

Gupta further accused Deol of forging an agreement with his company in 2023, stating that Deol altered a crucial page, increasing his fee from Rs 4 crore to Rs 8 crore and the profit share to Rs 2 crore. Filmmaker Suneel Darshan, known for movies like "Janwar" (1999) and "Andaaz" (2003), supported Gupta's claims at the press conference. Darshan shared his own experience, alleging that Deol acquired the rights to his movie "Ajay" (1996) for overseas distribution but only made a partial payment. Despite promises, the remaining payment never arrived. Darshan also recounted how Deol convinced him to work on a new project, extracting additional payments under the guise of trust and support.

Sunny Deol, who recently starred in "Gadar 2" alongside Ameesha Patel—a blockbuster hit released in August 2023—faces these accusations as he prepares for his next big project. Deol is set to appear in the sequel to his 1997 movie "Border." "Border 2" will see Deol reprising his role in uniform, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, who will play a significant role in the Indian Armed Forces. The film, directed by Anurag Singh, has generated considerable buzz.

Earlier this month, Sunny Deol appeared on Ranveer Allahabadia’s podcast, where he discussed "Border 2." Deol mentioned that the sequel was initially planned for 2015 but was delayed due to the poor performance of his films at that time. He expressed his eagerness to start the project, noting the renewed interest now that his films are performing well. Deol is expected to begin shooting for "Border 2" in October this year, although no official confirmation has been provided.

The allegations against Sunny Deol cast a shadow over his professional endeavors, raising questions about his business practices. As the situation unfolds, both Gupta's and Darshan's claims will undoubtedly attract significant attention, potentially impacting Deol's reputation and future projects.
