Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently turned on his supportive hubby mode, as he graced the launch of his wife, renowned interior designer Gauri Khan’s coffee table book ‘My Life in Design’. Launching her debut book at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai, the IT couple of Bollywood got candid about their personal life and buying their lavish bungalow Mannat. They spoke about how she took up interior designing during the event.
The 57-year-old actor added that as soon as they saved up the money, they bought their bungalow even if it was way over their budget. He added how they had to rebuild their house. He went on to add how they had hired an interior design for their house, however the lump sum amount he was charging was way more than the salary he was earning back then. He added, “The lunch that he served us while telling us how he would redesign the house was way more than the salary I was earning in a month!”

It was then that he suggested his wife Gauri, to design the house. For the unversed, the actor has even written the foreword of the book where he has recalled how Gauri developed her interest in interior designing when they were facing a financial crunch after buying Mannat. The foreword mentions how she would design their furniture, buy the raw materials and direct the carpenter to make her ideas into a reality.
On the work front, after enjoying the immense success of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan has movies like Jawaan and Dunki along with a cameo in Tiger 3 in his pipeline.
