Bollywood veteran actress and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) MP Kirron Kher seems to have gotten herself in legal trouble. As per a report by Times Now News, she and her political aide Shadev Salaria allegedly threatened a Chandigarh businessman and his family, for not returning her money on time. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted businessman, Chaittnya Aggarwal, police protection for a week after he and his family were allegedly threatened.
According to the media report, Aggarwal submitted in court that he, his wife, and his two minor daughters were facing a ‘threat to life and liberty’ from Kher and Salaria. He made the claims through senior advocate, Anmol Rattan Sidhu. Shedding light on the entire matter, he alleged that the 71-year-old actress had given him Rs 8 crores for investment, which he had to return after profits. He reportedly invested the money and in August returned Rs 2 crores to her.
The petition states that in November he had asked for more time to return the remaining amount of money due to fluctuations in the market. This is when the political leader and her aide started allegedly threatening him. The media publication reports that, the duo demanded the return of her money and also asked him for the interest. Aggarwal even claimed, that the BJP MP ‘made it abundantly clear’ that his life is at risk.
A bench of Justice Anoop Chitkara said in its order that the ‘concerned Superintendent of Police and the concerned SHO’ should provide protection to the businessman for a week. While issuing the directions for the protection, the bench imposed restrictions so that the security isn’t misused or flaunted by the petitioner and his family. The court went on to state that the police protection might be discontinued before the expiry of one week if Aggarwal requests for it.
Kirron Kher and her office have refused to comment on the order.
