Farhan Akhtar’s production house, Excel Entertainment, is backing a web series titled Power Play, which revolves around the Indian Premier League and marks the debut of former Miss India World (2006) and supermodel Natasha Suri. Directed by Karan Anshuman the cast comprises Vivek Oberoi, Richa Chadha, Angad Bedi, Sarah Jane Dias, Tanuj Virwani and besides Natasha in pivotal roles.

The series, inspired by real-life events, wrapped up recently and SpotboyE.com spoke to Natasha over a telephonic conversation about her upcoming project.

Talk about making a debut with a web series instead of a film and she says, “The web is the new break for all actors. It’s the future. The content put on the web is so strong that it ultimately invites an audience to watch it.”

Considering that Farhan’s production house is backing the series, was he around to give his inputs? Natasha reveals, “Initially we weren’t allowed to talk to the media. But now that the product is close to being completed, we can disclose certain aspects about our characters. I have never spoken to Farhan, but I’m looking forward to his feedback.”

Recalling her shoot experience with Vivek Oberoi, she told SpotboyE.com that the actor was a supportive co-star. “Whenever I stepped out from my vanity in a formal dress, Vivek would say ‘Wow’. He would commend my work.”

Surviving in the cut-throat film fraternity is no mean feat. Stars often fear being typecast. Does she too? “It’s human nature to slot people according to their looks; like if you have done a comical role, you will be offered roles in that genre only. However, it’s our responsibility to break the norm. I’m happy that I have a fine body, I don’t resist it.”

However, Natasha insists that time are changing.  “It’s a great time to be a part of the industry where the focus is not just on the skin show. Earlier it used to be that way but now things are changing.”

The actress will also be seen in a film called BAA BAAA BLACK SHEEP starring Manish Paul and Anupam Kher.
