After Rishi Kapoor's last rites were over on Thursday, WhatsApp text messages started flying that Naseeruddin Shah has been hospitalised. Hearts sank and phone calls were made to him or his wife Ratna Pathak. While Naseer chose to not attend those calls, Rana Pathak had started denying to those whom she spoke to. But you know how we journalists are. We all, including I, felt that she didn't sound convincing enough.

So, the calls continued from sections of the media to their sources, who in turn were not too sure but still some of them maintained that Naseer had taken unwell and had been wheeled into a hospital. At this very moment, if you follow Naseeruddin Shah on Instagram, you must have been surprised to see him walking in what seemed to be his room. But whether the senior actor had gone LIVE intentionally or accidentally (kabhi kabhi Insta Live ka button dab jaata hai hum sabhi se), we will not be able to tell until Naseer himself reveals.

Naseer was seen walking in the room in question and talking on the phone. He did not say anything on the LIVE and disappeared after 10-15 seconds. We have such morbid minds that some even started speculating if the background was indeed a give away to his presence at his residence or hospital!

This was followed by Naseer posting on Facebook that the word floating about his health was wrong.

And we also read Naseer's son Vivaan, plus Naseer's brother Zameer Uddin- both reiterating the same.

The story of Naseer's health scare had reportedly started from certain sections of the media. The tweets in question also said that Naseer has been suffering since many days. What else but a case of IRRESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM!

Can we make some effort of at least contacting the right people, stop concluding biasedly and hold back when we are not sure about the news especially if it's sensitive as in this case?
