This year the Mumbai Film Festival better known as MAMI, showcased one of the most promising short film anthologies, Shor Se Shuruaat. It's a collection of 7 unrelated short films, all having the common theme of 'Shor' (Noise).
It's generally not easy to get 7 of India's finest directors come under one roof and create something together. Well, the producers of the film, Humara Movie, have managed to make this unthinkable a reality. Mira Nair, Nagesh Kukunoor, Imtiaz Ali, Shyam Benegal, Sriram Raghavan, Zoya Akhtar and Homi Adajania have come together as mentors to 7 young directors who have previously worked with these bigwigs.
These films are respectively called Hell O Hello, Dhvani, Decibel, Azaad, Yellow Tin Can Telephone, Aamer and Mia I'm.
Shor Se Shuruaat marks the 4th year of Humara movie’s annual short filmmaking competition, Shuruaat, a festival that showcases an anthology of short films based upon a common theme. In 2014, the 8-part Shuruaat Ka Interval (theme: interval) was released commercially in cinemas.
Shor Se Shuruaat releases worldwide on December 16.
