Akshay Kumar is someone who always has an opinion on what’s happening around him.
Last year, his video condemning the Uri attacks was much appreciated and it also went viral. In fact, it was one of the most talked about tweets of 2016. And now Akshay has yet again raised his voice against the recent unfortunate Bengaluru mass molestation case. (Watch the video above). The incident took place on New Year’s Eve, where women were subjected to sexual assault and harassment.
Looking absolutely disgusted with the incident, Akshay Kumar says, “The Bengaluru incident makes me feel we are evolving backwards- from humans to animals, rather beasts because even animals are better! Truly shameful”
Many blamed the incidence on females wearing "short dresses". One of them was MLA Abu Azmi, father-in-law of actress Ayesha Takia. He stated, "It was bound to happen. Women were wearing short dresses." He also added, "If a girl celebrates after dark she should go with her husband, father and not with strangers", Azmi said.
Akshay could not believe that people have such opinions. Condemning the shallow thinking, Akshay adds, “It is shameful that there are some people who dare to justify a woman's harassment.”
Not just Akshay, a lot of other B-Town stars like Farhan Akhtar, Varun Dhawan, Richa Chadha and singer Shweta Pandit slammed Abu Azmi for his comments earlier (Farhan Akhtar, Varun Dhawan Lash Out At Politician Abu Azmi For Shaming Women, Jan 3).
Coming back to Akshay’s video, it is absolutely honest and impactful! He not only lashed out on those who were involved in this shameful act but also urged girls to take up martial arts and be alert in their defence.
