Amrita Rao is
spitting fire. Her TV debut Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai was not a joy ride.
According to Amrita, she has still to be paid Rs 22 lakh from the production
house, The House Of Originals.
Known for her
roles in films like Ishq Vishk (2003), Main Hoon Na (2004) and Vivah (2006)
Amrita chose Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai to foray into television. In the
&TV show, she was seen playing the role of a singer named Kalyani
from the 1970s.

So
what went wrong for Amrita in her first TV splash? A source says, "Well,
nothing went wrong per se. It is just that she shot beyond her stipulated time
on many days, and this has led to an outstanding amount of Rs 5 lakh."
What's the
remaining Rs 17 lakh about, we asked? Revealed the source, "That's the MG
(Minimum Guarantee) that the production house had signed her for (MG is the
amount paid to senior or lead actors that will be paid to them if the
production house fails to shoot on their blocked dates). There were days
in Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai where Amrita's shoot was scheduled to
happen but did not."

Toh ab? Adds the
source, "Ab Amrita has gone to CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes TV
Association). In fact, she had gone to CINTAA quite sometime back. CINTAA is
now trying its best to get her the money. The House Of Originals has
agreed to pay Amrita Rs 5 lakh, but the MG amount is heavily under dispute.
Despite CINTAA's best efforts, not a single meeting has yet taken place where a
representative from both the warring parties was present."

SpotboyE.com has
it that the show did not reach its logical conclusion and was pulled off before
time, hence The House Of Originals did not make great money on it. The show had
big names like Deepti Naval, Zarina Wahab, Amrita Rao, Aditi Vasudev,
Pallavi Joshi and Eijaz Khan--- but did not register good TRP ratings. It
premiered on March 7, 2016 but lasted only till July 15, 2016.
So, the jhagda
continues. Aage aage dekhen hota hai kya.
