At an event today- Aamir Khan warmed hearts when he neither ducked the question, nor gave a wishy-washy reply and hurrah, no PR interrupted when he was asked delicate questions on Thugs Of Hindostan. The star's recent film was a washout but he coolly took all the questions on his chin.
Aamir said, "We tried our best but we went wrong, I take the blame. I thank those who liked it but am aware that those were in a minority." Asked if the actors come to know how it's going as the film goes along in making, Aamir said that 'he wouldn't like to say on that, but reiterated in an indirect manner that it would be rather better if he was blamed." This is brave, man! How many actors, barring few, do it like this? Most actors give you cocky replies or PRs instruct you to not ask them anything about their debacles. Hail Aamir!

Thugs Of Hindostan earned Rs 51 cr on Day 1 but spiraled downwards from Day 2. By end of day 2, we all knew it was all over. The word of mouth was immensely bad, the reviews were harsh, the theatres were more empty than full. Most cinema houses had hiked up the ticket prices, and some had even raised the Popcorn-Pepsi rates. It hurt, but now it doesn't hurt anymore. Aamir has cleaned up our disappointment over the movie. We can imagine that what Aamir, who is so used to almost continuous blockbusters since more than a decade now, must have felt especially throughout the first week of its release. But the fact that he seemed to have overcome it all, and even chose to speak about it, calls for a thunderous applause.
