Boman Irani, who was the host for the evening, entertained the attendees by singing Frank Sinatra's I Did It My Way with the band Shillong Chamber Choir.
While Kavita Paudwal paid tribute to the 26/11 martyrs with her rendition of Ae Mere Watan Ki Logo and Itne Shakti Hume Dena Data, Mahalakshmi and Shriram crooned Sare Jahan Se Achha, Mile Sur Mera Tumhara amongst other songs.
Like every year, Vivek Oberoi attended the event this time too. When asked about Aamir Khan's intolerance comment controversy, Vivek told SpotboyE, "I feel India, as a nation, has always been tolerant. When there were holy crusades going on in the world, India had been a melting pot of all the cultures."
Talking about the significance of the event, Boman told SpotboyE, "I see so many people thanking me for doing this. I don't see why they are thanking me because ultimately, it is for my city and my people."
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his wife could not make it but sent their wishes. The survivors of the 26/11 attacks also attended the event.
