On Valentine’s Day, Vivek Anand Oberoi took to social media to share a video he took with his wife, Priyanka Alva, enjoying a joyride on his new bike at midnight on the empty streets of Mumbai. At a petrol station, Vivek also greeted and met his fans and clicked a few selfies with them. While the video also received love from his fans in abundance, it even received a lot of backlash from netizens who called him irresponsible for not wearing a helmet while riding the bike and a mask during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

However, soon the Mumbai Police issued an e-challan to the actor-producer for driving without a helmet and flouting traffic rules. An FIR was also filed against Vivek for not adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.  This afternoon, Vivek shared a video on his social media handles where he dedicated a post to the Mumbai Police. But what grabbed the attention of the netizens is that he shared the message in a rather hilarious way. Vivek joined Pakistani influencer Dananeer Mobeen’s popular ‘pawrii’ meme fest.

In the shared video, the actor is seen pointing out at his bike and flashing the e-challan issued to him by Mumbai Police. Using hashtags, Vivek also urged everyone to wear a helmet while driving and prioritise their safety. He captioned the video, “This is for you @MumbaiPolice #pawtikatgayihai #PawriNahiHoRahiHai . . . @MumbaiPolice #SaathiyaOfSafety #WearHelmet #WearMask #SafetyFirst”

Needless to say, the video has left his followers in splits. On February 20, he had taken to his Twitter account to apologise to the Mumbai police for breaching road safety rules. He wrote, “Pyaar humein kis mod pe le aaya!Nikle they nayi bike par hum aur hamari jaan, bina helmet ke kat gaya chalaan!Riding without a helmet?Mumbai police will do a checkmate!Thank u @mumbaipolice for making me realise that safety is always most important. Be safe, wear a helmet & a mask”.
