Travel has become quite easy with DigiYatra which is a new initiative by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MIA). The mobile application facilitates a contactless air travel experience and it was launched on December 1 across selected airports including Delhi T3, Bengaluru, and Varanasi.
The DigiYatra service will be further expanded to more airports including Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Vijaywada by March 2023.
Interestingly, the MIA has promoted its application with the help of Bollywood’s upcoming flick Pathaan. The official Twitter handle of MoCA_GoI has teased fans with a video of ‘King’ SRK with an aim for a faster travel experience.
For those unversed, the app is available for Android as well as Apple users.
But, the storm of controversies do not seem to end there! Besharam Rang was dubbed "vulgar" and "indecent" by the right-wing masses. The film is dubbed as Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film and many BJP leaders from Madhya Pradesh and certain religious groups have demanded a ban on the movie alleging Deepika hurt the sentiments of Hindus by wearing a saffron-coloured bikini in a scene from ‘Besharam Rang.’
Coming back to the DigiYatra App, the Indian Government is currently moving towards the digitisation of most processes concerning public services. The application helps fastrack and digitise passenger identification and check-in procedures at the airport.
The mobile application has generated tremendous response owing to the chaos caused at the Delhi International Airport.
