Bollywood actor and comedian Vir Das belongs to the category of people that don’t shy away from giving their opinions on almost anything and everything, irrespective of the consequences. Well, even if that includes advising his fellow Bollywood actors. Amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the government has imposed certain relaxations on travelling, albeit with the necessary precautions. Keeping that in mind, a lot of actors have resumed outdoor shootings and have been sharing videos of them undergoing the swab test before getting back on the sets. Take, for instance, Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan and Preity Zinta among others.
This certainly didn't go down well with Vir Das. In his recent tweet, the Go Goa Gone actor has asked them to stop doing so, as he believes that there are people in PPE kits doing that 30 times a day. He further wrote neither how tilting one’s head for mere 30 seconds is neither struggling nor an engaging content. “Celebrities, please stop posting videos of your covid tests. There's someone in a full PPE kit one foot away from you who does this 30 times a day, door to door. You're not the one struggling. Tilting your head back 30 degrees and managing not to sneeze is not engaging content,” read his tweet.
And when a follower countered Vir by tweeting how celebrities putting their videos may inspire fans to do the same. Vir responded writing, “Hear me out. Been seeing test videos for months now. Encourage people to get the test for sure. But don't huff you just climbed a mountain. It's a test, that came to you, at home. It sucks. Supposed to. Less for you, more for the frontline worker drenched in sweat. Thank em.”
