Bollywood actor Vijay Raaz was accused of sexual harassment by a crew member of his film in November last year. An FIR was filed against the actor. The case was filed by an assistant director of his film Sherni. Later, Raaz also filed a petition quashing the FIR filed against him. According to the latest reports, in a significant development in the case, the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has granted the actor temporary relief. The report stated that HC also directed that all the proceedings of the case that were pending should be stayed.
According to a report in Lokmat, in his petition, Vijay Raaz mentioned that the original complaint registered by the woman is based on "imagination with ill intention to malign the image and gain popularity at the cost of a senior actor." The report mentioned that in the petition, Raaz stated that he has not committed any offense. The actor also stated that the sexual harassment case would only become valid if there was any physical contact and advances involved. The report mentioned that Vijay Raaz called the allegations made by the woman “baseless” and “imaginary”. He further claimed that the woman has also withdrawn her complaint.
As per the report, Vijay Raaz continued to explain that he was visiting Gondia for the first time for the shoot of the film Sherni. The actor said that it was the assistant’s duty to inform him about the call time of the shoot. He further explained that he only called the woman for the timings related to the shoot. The actor said that the woman shared the schedule with him on October 27, 2020. As per the lady’s allegations, Raaz kept his hand over her should near the lift of the hotel gateway after he returned from the morning walk. The report mentioned that the call time according to the production house stated that the actor and woman were 125 KM away from the hotel.
