Lately, Vicky Kaushal is in the news because it's being reported that his magnum opus, The Immortal Ashwaththama, with his Uri director Aditya Dhar, has been shelved. The superhero film was to star Vicky opposite Sara Ali Khan and was shut due to budgetary reasons. But it seems like Vicky has found a way to fill up all those dates that's become free due to the film being put on the backburner.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, the actor is all set to reunite with Karan Johar for another film. He is currently shooting for Shashank Khaitan’s Mr Lele, under Karan’s production house. The film features him opposite Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar and according to the report, only a few days of patchwork on the film is left. It will be completed in October.
The report also states that when Karan got to know about the fate of Ashwaththama, he decided to give a film to Vicky. He has been offered a rom-com and an action-drama to choose from as Karan is very impressed by his professional approach on set.
Vicky’s first project with Karan’s Dharma Productions was the 2018 film Raazi with Alia Bhatt, which was immediately followed by the Netflix anthology, Lust Stories with Kiara. After that, he did Bhoot-Part One: The Haunted Ship with Bhumi. Mr Lele is his fourth project with Karan and if the reports are true, this new film will mark their fifth collaboration.
Meanwhile, Vicky has a busy line up of films ahead. He has Shoojit Sircar’s Sardar Udham Singh, Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur and Yash Raj Films’ upcoming family comedy with Manushi Chhillar, that will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. He was also to be a part of Karan’s directorial, Takht, but there hasn’t been any development on the film for a while.
